Dell Notebook, 4 years old
IRQL_Not_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Bluescreen Stop 0xA (0,0, 0x804D9B64)

Solution:
Start Notebook with Key F8
Save Mode
Open Device Manager
Inactivate Intel WLAN Driver

Start Windows Normal

De-install and install newest Driver for WLAN
EndNote "invalid class string"
This is an endless story (update March 2012)

You get
"invalid class string" if you try to open/insert citation from EndNote in MS Word.

Easy solution is, if you never open EndNote. In this case close word and open EndNote. Open Word again.

If this does not work you have probably install EndNote over a old EndNote version. The EndNote Technical Service gave me a solution.

1.(March 2012) this is an almost unbelievable story!
EndNote X1 and later on Windows Vista/7

http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/cwyw/faq13.asp
  1. Close all open programs.
  2. Go to the EndNote program folder. This is typically
    C:\Program Files\EndNote XX
    or
    C:\Program Files (X86)\EndNote XX
Where XX represents your version of EndNote
  3. Right click on EndNote.exe and select "Run as administrator."
  4. With EndNote open, click on the Start Menu. In the search box type "regedit" (without quotes) and hit enter on your keyboard to launch the Registry Editor.
  5. Expand the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" folder and locate the key:
    "EndNote11.AddinServer" (for X1)
    "EndNote12.AddinServer" (for X2)
    "EndNote13.AddinServer" (for X3)
    "EndNote14.AddinServer" (for X4)
  6. Right Click on the AddinServer key and select Permissions.
  7. Click Advanced. Then click Add.
  8. In object name, type "Everyone" (without quotes) and click Ok.
  9. In the Permissions entry window, go to the Delete row. Click Deny and then choose OK.(Really you had to deny the permission to delete)
  10. Close the Registry Editor and close EndNote.
  11. Start EndNote and your word processor normally and try the tools.

2. Here my E-Mail to EndNote
(Sept 2010)

Dear EndNote

Error: Invalid Class String.

Endnote FAQ Question 29: "... close Word and open again." does not work.

----------------------------
Reply from EndNote Technical Support :

Dear Dieter Steinmetz,

Installing EndNote X3 as an administrator should still work as long as the user has full read/write/modify rights to the following registry locations:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ISIResearchsoft
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins

Additionally, you will want to uninstall any prior versions of EndNote.

If you wish to do a full, clean install. Please do the following:

First, make sure to back up any library files (both the .enl and the .data) that may be saved in your Program files/EndNote folders.

Do the same for any styles, connections, or filters you may have saved in the EndNote folders.

Now uninstall any versions of EndNote you have on your computer. Next do the following:

1) Quit all applications.
2) Go to Start in the lower left hand side of your monitor and click Run
3) Type regedit then press ok
4) Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ISIResearchsoft/
5) Delete the EndNote folder and it's contents.
6) Expand HKEY_CURRENT_User/Software/Microsoft
7) Right Click the Office folder and choose to Export.
8) Name the file addin keys and save the file to your desktop
9) Expand the Office/11.0 folder
10) Delete the Word folder in the 11.0 folder.
11) Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word folder.
12) Delete the Addins folder.

Now delete the following folders and files:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your user name]\Application Data\EndNote\
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ResearchSoft\
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Thomson ResearchSoft\
C:\Program Files\EndNote [version]\

Also delete any CWYW files you find in C:\Documents and Settings\[Your user name]\Application Data\\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

Now you can re-install EndNote X3. Make sure to have full administrative rights when you do this and you should disable any antivirus/spyware program(s) you may have running.

If you need further assistance with this issue, please let me know by replying directly to this e-mail.
